2012 Helong International Half Marathon Registration Instruction

Ⅰ. Event Information

Race Date: September 8, 2012(Saturday)，8：30 a.m.

Events: Half Marathon (21.0975Km), 10KM, 5KM

Ⅱ. Registration Requirements

(ⅰ)Age Requirements

1.        Only participants above age 16 are eligible to participate in the half marathon (runners born before September 7, 1996);

2.        Only participants above age 13 are eligible to participate in the 10KM and 5KM (runners born before September 7, 1999);

(ⅱ) Health Requirements

Marathon is a sport which exposes a participant to intense physical and mental challenges over a long distance and extended period of time. Joining in marathon also poses high risks, which requires all participants to be in good health and regularly engaged in jogging or running activities prior to competition. Participants can join in only one of marathon events according to personal health condition and competence.

Runners suffering from the following conditions are unsuitable to join in any marathon events:

1.         Congenital or rheumatic heart disease;

2.         Hypertension or cerebrovascular disease;

3.         Myocarditis and other heart disease;

4.         Coronary artery disease and serious arrhythmia;

5.         Diabetes;

6.         Any other diseases which can be aggravated by running.

During the race, any personal injury or property loss due to health or other personal reasons shall be borne by the participant. Organizing Committee recommends that each participant should have a physical examination in relevant healthcare facility before the race.

Ⅲ. Registration Measures

(ⅰ) The maximum number of participants for Half Marathon is 1,000, the maximum number of participants for the 10KM is 4,000 and for the 5KM Marathon is 5,000. The registration will be stopped once all the placements are filled. (All confirmed registers shall receive the serial number upon successful payment)

(ⅱ) Registration Period: From July 15，2012 To August 20，2012

(ⅲ) Registration fees:

Half Marathon: 20 USD per person.

10KM and 5KM: 5 USD per person.

(ⅳ) Method of payment:

1.                        Online registration: Payment online following by steps.

2.        Off-line registration: Downlaod the form online and email or fax to the organizing committee, making the bank transfer to finish the payment, detailed bank account info as followed:

Ⅳ. Registration Procedure

For online registrars: Read the rules and regulations online→→Accept athletes’ statements and fill the registration form online →→paying registration fee and timing chip deposit (only half marathon) online →→Complete registration →→Get the email to download the ”Confirmation”→→Collect race goods by the “Confirmation” and personal ID before the race.

For on the off-line registrars: Contact the Organizing Committee to finish race registration.

Ⅴ. Timing Chip:

Organizing Committee will provide the Half Marathon (21.0975Km) participants with timing chips. The race shall be started by the firing of a gun at 8: 30, and all the Half Marathon participants MUST pass the ground timing chips settled on the way and finish point. The lake of result in any of the above slot will lead to cancellation of a participant’s whole race results.

Timing Chip Deposit: 16 USD per person; the deposit shall be paid along with the registration fee andhand out with race goods.

Refund Policy: Participants may refund chips at the finish areas on the race day only. 100 RMB per each. In the case that the timing chip lost or damaged, the deposit is non-refundable. If a participant fails to handle the refund within the time specified, the Organizing Committee will deem it as a waiver and the deposit will not be refunded.

Ⅵ.  Notification

1.      All registration information must be filled out truly and accurately.

2.        For items to be collected before the race, please see the 《2012 Helong Half Marathon Race Goods Collecting Notice 》(to be announced soon online).
